Human-Computer Interaction Aspects of Visual-Interactive Locational Analysis

The linkages between a modelbase management system, supporting methods of locational analysis, and a prototype user interface for visual interactive modelling are described. The quality of these linkages largely determine the forms of human-computer interaction that a spatial decision support system can provide to its users. The role of task analysis in designing such linkages is explored and recommendations are made about the system design.
