Practicum in the Engineering Classroom- A Graduate Course

Development of a 1-credit graduate course "Practicum in the Engineering Classroom EngE5504," a required course for a new PhD program in engineering education and the existing graduate certificate in engineering education within the Engineering Education department in the USA, is discussed. The course syl labus, class project assignment, and results of end of semester course evaluation surveys are included and discusse d. Examples of students' class projects, targeted to introduce freshmen to various disciplines of engine ering, are included to demonstrate graduate students' awareness of developing course materials using acti ve learning approaches.
