Handover with simulcasting

A handover scheme using simulcasting in the downlink is suggested as a means to improve reliability of handover. Simulcasting implies that the interference experienced by cochannel users increases, which may reduce signal quality. Simulation results are presented, for a macro cell environment, showing that if simulcasting is used with care, the effects of cochannel interference may, be reduced compared to handover without simulcasting.<<ETX>>
