Air cooled generator stator temperature field distribution and experimental comparison

In case of a large air-cooled turbine generator,according to the principle of CFD and characteristics of the stator cooling system,mathematical and physical models of three-dimensional flow and heat ventilation systems were built,corresponding basic assumptions and boundary conditions were selected,fluid field and temperature field coupled solutions were solved,the solving results obtain the fluid temperature distribution trend inside different radial ventilation groove and temperature distribution of motor solid,the distribution of the highest temperature and the values of the maximum temperature were got. The cooling capacity of the ventilation system was assessed according to the comparison between the final results of simulation and actual operating results,to ensure safe and reliable operation of unit. The calculations of stator winding and core between calculated value and experimental values of safety are 13. 7% 、18. 4%. The practicality of the simulation is demonstrated by results within in range of allowance error 20%.
