Matrix converter fed induction motor using a new modified direct torque control method

This paper describes a new control strategy to improve efficiency, robustness and dynamic response for the matrix converter fed induction motor with direct torque control method. Using the proposed method, besides the advantages of direct torque control method with matrix converter, the more advance of this proposed method as compared with the conventional direct torque control of matrix converter fed induction motor is the capability of reduction of both flux ripple and torque ripple within their boundaries. Numerical simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of this new proposed method.
