A method for manufacturing an electrode for a battery is provided to minimize consumption of raw materials, to prevent a short circuit, and to allow production of electrodes having various shapes and sizes. A method for manufacturing an electrode for a battery comprises: a step(ST10) of providing a base electrode sheet; a step(ST20) of cutting the base electrode sheet depending on the width of an electrode to form a unit electrode plate; and a step(ST30) of removing at least one edge portion of the unit electrode plate. The edge portion of one side of the base electrode sheet includes a non-coated portion in which no active material exists.
