A preliminary report. Muscle forces during reaching: EMG-to-force processing

Human motion modeling and simulation is a very active research field. There is an increasing need of tools that permit to know or evaluate in vivo muscle forces with non invasive technics. The determination of the muscle forces developed during a normal reach-to-grasp movement could be a pertinent information in the field of human prehension (Bogey et al. 2005, Heintz and GutierrezFarewick 2006). In this context, we propose to test a method evaluating individual muscle forces during a complete upper-limb grasping gesture using an EMG-to-force processing method.
