Applied Approach Slab Settlement Research, Design/Construction: Annual Report for 2011

This annual report describes a summary of work accomplished during the first year of this two year project. The purpose of this research is to investigate the causes of bridge approach settlement via literature review, direct investigation, and laboratory investigations and propose design and construction solutions. The study will critically examine current practices in the state of Oklahoma via direct forensic investigation of selected bridge approaches by field and laboratory investigations and an exhaustive literature review. The scope of this project includes two phases: a literature review and a critical investigation of practices via field and laboratory investigations.
