Nail deformity with nonunion of distal phalanx.

To the Editor.— Patients with chronic nail deformities are often seen by a dermatologist for nail repair or removal. As illustrated in the case described below, the deformity can result from a bony abnormality secondary to trauma. In the absence of adequate evaluation, the underlying bony abnormality may be overlooked.
