The discontinuous reception control method comprises the following steps that: 1, a network side configures initial parameters of a discontinuous reception mechanism of a terminal according to a wireless communication standard, wherein the parameters comprise discontinuous reception parameter adaptive regulation triggering time T_trig and a plurality of channel quality indicator (CQI) threshold values, and inactivity timer lengths in the parameters are a plurality of length values; 2, the terminal measures own CQI according to the wireless communication standard, feeds the CQI back to the network side, and regulates own inactivity timer length according to the CQI; and 3, the network side monitors changes in the parameters of the discontinuous reception mechanism of the terminal according to the CQI fed back by the terminal, and regulates the parameters, stored by the network side, of the discontinuous reception mechanism of a corresponding terminal, thereby keeping consistent the parameters of the discontinuous reception mechanism on the network side and a terminal side. By the method, the average energy overhead of a user in the discontinuous reception mechanism is reduced, and the energy efficiency is remarkably improved.
