Solubility of aluminosilicates in alkaline solutions and a thermodynamic equilibrium model

We present experimental data on the solubility of aluminum and silicon in aqueous, alkaline solutions at 95°C for solutions containing 0.1-4 mol/l NAOH and NACl to ionic strengths of 4. We also present an analysis of the data which leads to a predictive model for the solubility of aluminosilicates at these conditions. A concise graphical method was developed for estimating the apparent solubility product from gross solution composition
