Development of a Resistance Measurement Test Bench for Health Monitoring of Heat Shields

In this work, a test bench for resistance measurement is developed. The investigations are carried out for carbon fibre composites. Resistivity, the inverse of conductivity, at a known temperature gives information about the structural health of a heat shield, as a fault in the composite structure reduces its conductivity. Therefore, time resolved measurements are conducted in different paths over the sample. These results will indicate the location of defects in the sample.
