High-performance soft-switched three-phase converter with sinusoidal input current and unity power factor

A soft-switching three-phase PWM-PFC power converter is proposed in this paper. In discontinuous mode power converters, the devices must be switched off at a maximum inductor current. To achieve zero voltage switching, the proposed power converter is constructed by using a resonant network in parallel with the switch of a conventional PWM power converter. The new PWM power converter achieves soft-switching for all switching devices without increasing their voltage and current stresses.
