Editorial: Transdisciplinarity

The online seminar Rethinking Interdisciplinarity on the Interdisciplines website (Interdisciplines, 2004), moderated by Christophe Heints and Gloria Origgi (CNRS) began a debate in April 2003 about a variety of issues related to interdisciplinary research, its definition, organization, assessment and future. By March 2004, eight texts coming from very different perspectives had been open to discussion in English and French, and 281 commentaries had been posted on the site by 65 different discussants.
