The Design and Simulation of a New Dual-Redundant PMSM with Weak Coupling

A design of new dual-redundant PMSM with weak coupling applying to the airborne EHA system was proposed.With the application of module RMxprt and Maxwell 2D in electromagnetic analysis software,the simulation analysis on the performance and two-dimensional transient magnetic field of PMSM was conducted under the single-redundant and double redundant operating mode respectively.With the main focus on the loaded starting procedure and the magnetic saturation characteristic of the core,an airborne EHA system experimental platform was built.The simulation and experimental results show that with a fast response,smooth operation and low mutual inductance between the windings,the new dual-redundant PMSM with weak coupling can fully fulfil the requirements of performance rating and reliability of aircraft EHA,which improves the control performance of the system.
