가로를 구성하는 건물의 체계와 인식에 관한 연구

Modern complex city has a meaning as a place of interaction between human behaviors and physical environments consisting of buildings, street furnitures, streets and so on. Street, one of physical environments, plays a important role in determining the image of city as a symbolism of civic culture and a functionalism in itself. Especially building, a component of streetscape, has directly expressed the symbolism and functionalism that street has, and therefore the architecture in streetscape can be defined a behavior that visually organize its components into expressing the symbolism and functionalism of street. But those of street as a aesthetic value is not properly reflected to building design because of preference policy of the Korean Government for development. As a result of that, streetscape has been gray and complicate rather than beautiful and consistent. Facade design of building as a major component of streetscape is very important for the image of the street but the intentional intervention of that in building design is not easy without building owner's positive comprehension and active participation in that most of buildings is private property for self-interest. This study aims to come up with evaluation model that can quantitatively interpret the influence of facade designs and colors of existing buildings on the selected street with understanding characteristics of it, and illustrate the model through the experimental questionnaires.
