Performance analysis of GSM-R network structure in China train control system

This paper focus on the current GSM-R interleaving redundancy coverage, and proposes a new redundancy network transmission structure. Based on Markov Chains, the factors of transmission errors, handover and connection losses which may lead to wireless connection failure are considered in the models, where the reliability and availability are analyzed for both redundant configurations with respect to the influence of the train velocity. Besides, the simulation of the new redundant structure is implemented to give a visual expression of its improvement in the sojourn time of working states. All these analyzes show that the new redundant structure has got a better reliability as well as a better availability (over 99.99%) than the interleaving redundancy coverage, and it is much less affected when the train velocity is increased.
