Quantitative Evaluation and Improved Research of Manual Materials Handling Based on Ergonomics

Aiming at the ergonomic problem of Manual Materials Handling in manufacturing process,a quantitative evaluation and improvement method based on Composite Lifting Index(CLI)is investigated in this paper.In view of the multitask characteristics of actual Manual Materials Handling,the method introduces CLI to quantitatively evaluate Ergonomic problem in Manual Materials Handling(MMH),which can be effectively fulfilled through choosing Composite Lifting task,calculating Composite Lifting Index,Optimizing Composite Lifting task and validating ergonomic improvement based on simulation software JACK.The method are verified as feasible and effective by its successful application in the tire assembling process of an automotive general assembly plant.
