The cycle length, statistical and key sensitivity properties of a perturbed couple chaotic PRBG

Chaos-based cryptography has several good properties, such as sensitivity to initial conditions, namely, the so-called butterfly effect. However, chaotic maps implemented by computers with finite precision will lead to dynamic degradation. In this paper a perturbed couple chaotic pseudo-random bit generator with good cycle length and statistical property is used to construct a stream cipher for JPEG 2000 image encryption. The cycle length of the perturbed couple chaotic PRBG is shown long enough for stream cipher, the statistical properties are shown satisfying FIPS 140-1, and the key sensitivity from 10−1 to 10−9 for JPEG 2000 image encryption is demonstrated.
