Reply to: Comments on ‘State feedback H ∞ control design of continuous-time switched affine systems’

The authors present some aspects that worth to be taken into account in a comparative study on H ∞ performance derived from min-type and max-type switching functions for continuous-time switched affine systems. In this direction, this note puts in evidence the comparisons made by Deaecto and Santos in 2015 about the results of Trofino et al. in 2012 whose illustrative example was enhanced by Scharlau et al. in 2017 by optimising some free parameters. With the optimisation, the H ∞ guaranteed costs became smaller than the ones of Deaecto and Santos in 2015 for the case where the switching function depends only on the state variable. It is shown that this situation can occur and it is in complete accordance with the theoretical results reported by Deaecto and Santos in 2015.
