A formação de tradutores a partir de uma abordagem cognitiva: reflexões de um projeto de ensino

This article presents the results of a research and teaching project conducted within the framework of a translator training programme for the English/Portuguese language pair. The didactic model of the translation process proposed by Alves (1995) was taken as a starting point, with empirically validated results for the German/Portuguese pair. The design of a translator training course was investigated and empirically tested. The results presented offer a new methodological option for a cognitively based approach for the training of translators.
