Numerical analysis was applied into the jet air turnover system with the jet-miser installed in a large enclosure for getting the performance characteristics of the air handling units(AHU). The purpose of this study is to achieve the numerical simulation onto the AHU and to compare the velocities and temperature profiles to examine the performance of the AHU together with the jet-miser in a large gymnasium. This paper deals with the numerical investigation of a fluid flow in large enclosure HVAC depending on the four different cases of AHU and jet-miser with the conditions of the turn-on and turn-off the operating power. In this study, the flow through the jet air turnover system which was simulated by ANSYS CFX code that solved the Navier-Stokes equations and shear stress transport (SST) turbulence model for three dimensional steady flows was used and the system performances were carefully compared against each other to check the uniform velocities and temperatures. Based on the numerical results with the optimum operating conditions were successfully found and the velocity and the temperature profiles according to the vertical and horizontal geometrical locations were also graphically obtained. With the effective operating conditions of this study in hands, other different types of AHU system with the energy saving operating tasks can be easily achieved without any difficulties.
