Study of high pressure bi-directional proportional solenoid

A new proportional solenoid with bi-directional operation was presented to deal with the uni-directional low driving performance of conventional proportional solenoid,which worked on differential control of magnetic fields produced by permanent magnet and control coils.Based on the finite element model,simulated results on the flux distributions under different excitation A Ampere-turns and positions were obtained,discussion on the cause and characteristics of its stroke versus displacement were also given.The simulated results accorded with the experimental results.The new proportional solenoid eliminates the zero dead-zone,and has advantages of high level of linearity,low hysteresis and low energy consumption.
