Experimental and Theoretical Study of Motion of a Moored Barge

Described is an experimental (both field and laboratory) and theoretical study of motion of a twin hulled moored barge as excited by ocean waves. Comparison of results and conclusions are presented. It is found that the linear theory of ships' motion using the slender-body approximation is an adequate tool for predicting the behavior of moored platforms in Sea States up to three.
