Comb type and reproduction in the male fowl segregation of the rose and pea comb genes.

Segregation ratios from heterozygous males and heterospermic inseminations were studied. There was a deficiency of pea comb offspring from rrPp males, in some cases from RrPp males, as well as from heterospermic inseminations (rrPP plus rrpp semen). Rose and walnut comb chicks were produced in the expected proportions from Rrpp or RrPp males but a significant deficiency of these comb types was found among offspring resulting from heterospermic inseminations (RRpp or RRPP plus rrpp semen).
