A Novel Immune Feedback Controller and Its Applications for Main Steam Temperature System

Biology immune system has strong robustness and self-adaptability even when encountering a great deal of disturbances and uncertain conditions. Artificial immune system is a new intelligent system of all the information process technique, computing technique and its applications in engineering and science, which is developed by the principles and mechanisms of biology immune system. Due to the large inertia, long time-delay and time-varying characteristics of the main steam temperature control system in fossil-fired power plant, it can't achieve satisfied control performance with conventional PID cascade control method. Prompted by the immune feedback mechanism model of biology system, a novel immune feedback controller is presented in this paper. The structure and algorithms are very simple, which makes it suit for the realization of engineering. A great deal of simulation studies for high temperature super-heaters under 4 typical operating conditions of one certain supercritical 600MW power boiler show that the control effect of this control strategy is superior to conventional PID cascade control. It can accommodate itself to the object's parameters variations and has strong robustness, self-adaptability and disturbance rejection ability.
