Silica-based 16 /spl times/ 16 optical matrix switch module with integrated driving circuits

We fabricated a 16 /spl times/ 16 optical matrix switch module in which a silica-based thermooptic switch chip and driving circuits were integrated. Our use of serial interfaces allowed us to realize a practicable module with a simple structure.
