Vibration Control of a Flexible Beam with Input Saturation

In the previous works, the constraint of the input actuator is ignored in the control design. However, in the actual control engineering, the completely linear system does not exist, and almost all the systems have the input constraints due to the limitation of the actuators or the inherent physical constraints of the systems. In the implementation of the flexible beam system with active control, the limitations modeled as nonlinear saturation characteristics exist in the control input, such as the finite voltage which hydraulic motors can achieve, the finite capacity of the pump, and so on [1]. The saturation characteristic can make the system unstable and degrade the performance of the system. Therefore, the effect of the input saturation characteristic should be taken into consideration for control design.
