CHAPTER 1 – A

This chapter presents a list of built-in Mathematica objects starting with the alphabet A and it illustrates their uses or what they represent or denote. Some of these objects include Abort, AbortProtect, Above, Abs, and AbsoluteDashing. Abort is used to interrupt computations. Above is an option to be used with commands, such as ColumnForm and TableForm. AccuracyGoal is an option used with numerical operations, such as NIntegrate and NDSolve to indicate the number of digits to appear in the result of these functions. Axes is an option used with graphics commands to specify whether axes are to be drawn or not. AxesEdge is a Graphics 3D option used to specify along which edges of the boxed region axes are to be drawn. This setting can be made in different forms. AxesStyle is an option used with graphics function to state the style that should be used in plotting the axes. These styles include Dashing, Hue, and Thickness.
