The Index Parameters for Analyzing Multi-infeed HVDC Systems and Their Applications

Based on the indexes of MIIF (multi-infeed interaction factor) and MIESCR (multi-infeed effective short circuit ratio), this paper generalizes the concept of MIIF to meet the purpose of analyzing ac and dc systems under different operation modes, and thus provides a solution for the issue of being short of indexes and methods to determine the electric distance between any two infeed points of the multi-infeed dc system, and relative strength of the ac system. Furthermore, taking 2008 high water level peak load operation mode of China Southern Power Grid as an example, indexes of MIIF and MIESC are calculated, and their usage to analyze the system is illustrated.
