Hydrodynamic parameters of diffused air systems

Abstract The influence of hydrodynamic parameters of diffused air systems on the oxygen transfer efficiency and the longitudinal dispersion of liquid in diffused air aeration wastewater treatment tanks have been evaluated using dimensional analysis, which involved the identification of significant parameters, development of equations to relate the dimensionless mass transfer and dispersion criteria with dimensionless hydrodynamic and geometric variables, and experimentation to determine the necessary numerical values for these equations. The developed relationships can be used as a guide for the design and optimization of aeration tanks.
