The paper describes a workplace for the automatic measurement of the microwave antennas radiation patterns. The workspace consists of a designed rotary stage, a signal generator and a spectrum analyzer. The rotary stage, equipped with a stepper motor, is remote-controlled from a computer which provides not only accuracy but also comfort of measurement. The rotary stage is connected via a USB virtual serial port and the instruments are connected to the PC via Ethernet. The instruments and PC are connected through a LAN network which is managed by a single application running in the MATLAB environment. The application controls connected instruments using Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI).
