Intermediate mode interchange for reduction of differential mode-group delay in weakly-coupled 6-mode fiber transmission line

Intermediate mode interchange using low-crosstalk mode multiplexer/demultiplexer in a 6 mode-division multiplexed transmission line has been demonstrated. We experimentally confirmed the reduction of differential mode group delay and tap size in 12×12 MIMO equalizer.
