Interfacing WWW with Distributed Database Applications in the Field of Tourism

Recent developements in the field of global information systems, such as provided by World-Wide.Web and existing architectures for the storage of distributed data are investigated for its use in the tourist industry. Architectural, organisatorial, and technical issues for the delivery of a WWW-oriented end-user interface on distributed tourism information systems are discussed in depth. Especially the interdependence between a distributed or federal database and alternative organisation structures of WWW-servers are investigated.
