A novel Linear Coordinated Precoding method in Cooperative Receive Diversity based MIMO relay systems

Cooperative Receive Diversity (CRD) has been put forward to further improve performance in relay systems. While current studies only consider single antenna configuration in CRD based relay systems, this article introduces multi-antennas for Base Station (BS). A novel Linear Coordinated Precoding (LCP) method is proposed to effectively utilize the spatial diversity and cooperative receive diversity. By simulations, it's shown that a near-optimal performance is achieved using the low-complexity LCP method. Compared to point-to-point maximum precoding method in the literature, system throughput, especially throughput of cell-edge UEs, is largely improved.
