HEECH: Hybrid Energy Effective Clustering Hierarchical Protocol for Lifetime Prolonging in Wireless Sensor Networks

In wireless sensor networks one of the important restrictions is the power constraint. In the recent years this problem has been important challenge in the scientific communities. Hence many protocols have been suggested for cluster head selection such as LEACH. In this paper we propose the new cluster head selection protocol namely HEECH. This protocol selects a best sensor node in terms of energy and distance as a cluster head. Simulation Results show that the HEECH increases the network lifetime about 56% and 9% compared to the LEACH and HEED, respectively.
