Multifunctional Endoscopic Imaging System for Support of Early Cancer Diagnosis

During an endoscopic examination, physicians find lesions, diagnose malignancy, and perform biopsy as well as therapy. Our recent development multifunctional imaging system provides an enhanced image for each step of the examination. Four observational modes work on the same platform. They are conventional white light mode, autofluorescence imaging, narrow band imaging, and infrared imaging. In this paper, the system configuration and clinical performance are described.
