New problematical pterioid bivalve species in the British Carboniferous

Synopsis Pterioid bivalves apparently belonging to two species are tentatively referred to the genus Placunopsis Morris and Lycett, previously unrecorded in the Carboniferous. The name Placunopsis? propediscus sp. nov. is ascribed to the more common of these forms.
