Aggregation models for town growth

Abstract We developed a new aggregation model, namely the p model, which is derived from the Eden model. In accordance with the recent trend in urban geography, we applied it to the problem of town growth. Examples of application to central towns (London and Paris) are presented, showing that the p model can give a good description of the growth of these towns.
