PIRSIDIL: A personalized information retrieval system in a digital library

The personalization in information retrieval has for goal to provide applicable information that corresponds precisely to the user's needs. In this paper, we are interested in creating a "Personalized Information Retrieval System In a Digital Library" called PIRSIDIL in order to present to the current user relevant retrieved documents adapted to their centers of interests and their needs. To achieve this goal, we are interested in modeling the user profile and in describing the metadata of documents and use them in the matching. The first experimental evaluations show a significant improvement of results offered by our system compared to Google.
