Microstrip Wearable Dual-Band Antenna Design for ON Body Wireless Communications

In this paper author presented the design of dual band (2.45 GHz and 5.4 GHz) microstrip patch wearable antenna for ON body wireless communications. The proposed design is basically exposes a combination of rectangular and F-shaped configurations. One of the significant features of the designed wearable antenna is its compact size. The antenna structure is designed by adopting different scaling down techniques. Since the antenna is a wearable antenna, author used a human body phantom model and then checked for specific absorption rate (SAR) standards. The execution of the antenna under twisting conditions and when placed on the human body are introduced. Moreover, the proposed microstrip patch antenna can be a promising device for different wearable systems due its compact dimensions.
