Bidirectional DC/DC Converter Based Photovoltaic Power System

The traditional maximum power point tracking(MPPT) circuit series in solar panels and the load.All the power generated by the PV has to pass the DC/DC converter,so the whole process of photovoltaic energy system effi-ciency depends on the efficiency of DC/DC converter.This paper presents a two quadrant DC/DC power converter for stand-alone photovoltaic power generation,and a parallel connected MPPT system is also introduced.It presents the functions of battery charger and step-up converter.The parallel connection of the MPPT system reduces power convert-er losses in the overall efficiency because only a part of the generated power is processed by the MPPT system.Fur-thermore,all control algorithms used in the classical series-connected MPPT can be applied into the parallel system.
