Analysis and Methods of Calibration Errors on Dataglove

This paper lies emphasis on DataGlove. the most used sensing glove to date. By this kind of VR I/O toods hand gestures are digitized and input to the host computer to meassure hand motion . The process of transforming raw sensordata into finger joint angles is called "glove calibration". Because of the open kinematic chain geometry of the user's finger,the sensing errors are cumulative. fo the worst case, when maxinum errors exit and have the same sign, the accuracy after calibration was unreliable. Therefore, how to get rid of calibration errors is the most important technology. In this paper. we analysis the coustroctional reasons which cause calibration errors, describle the sensor calibration method and provide two feasible ways to get rid of the edibration errors,namely. optical attenuation movement detection system and the CyberGlove.
