Performance of Object-Based Semantic Real-Time Concurrency Control

In this paper we present the results of performance tests that were executed to demonstrate the e ectiveness of an object-based semantic real-time concurrency control technique. The paper reviews the technique and the model upon which it was based. It then presents the results of several tests comparing two implementations of the semantic technique with three more traditional object-based concurrency control techniques. The results indicate that the semantic techniques maintained both transaction temporal consistency and data temporal consistency better than the traditional techniques.
