The Infl uence of Cryptography Algorithms and Parameters Setting on Secure Network Operation

The modern cryptography algorithm can be divided into symmetric key cryptography and public key cryptography. A number of cryptography algorithms are employed in switches and routers for parameter setting, remote maintenance and information transmission to realize the security of information. Along with the progress of cryptanalysis and computers, new attack methods such as side channel attack appears, the security of cryptography algorithms would break down. Wrong parameters configuration would decrease the security of the network protocol and the temporary safe algorithm would not be safe. Thus new algorithms or longer parameters should be deployed to keep the theoretical security. In this paper, symmetric-key and public key cryptographic algorithms are analyzed and compared, and parameters configuration of current network security algorithms are described in detail which have certain reference for routine network security operation parameters confi guration.
