AbslraCI A form of pentamerid brachiopod denoting thc Late Silurian age and some corals are recorded from the upper part of the " Muth Quartzite" in Kiogad valle)' of Garhwal Himalaya. This finding implies that. in spite of prcviolls assignment of the Muth Quartzite as of exclusivcly Devonian. it is a lithostratigraphic unit of largely Silurian age.
