Verifying Industrial Robotic Applications Using Simulation Software

Robotics and automation play a vital role in industries all around the world. Recent technological advancements have allowed robots to excel in industrial automation and they can now be used to improve quality, increase product output, and produce more accurate products than ever before. According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), “2018 brought a world record for investment in industrial robots worth about 16.5 billion. A total of around 422,000 robots were installed, representing an increase of 6% over the previous year [1].” Since 2006, there has been a steady growth in the number of robots operating in the world and the annual worldwide shipment of industrial robots is expected to continue growing at least until 2021 [1].
