The throughput of a wireless mobile ad-hoc network (MANETs) improves by using concurrent transmissions at the MAC layer among neighboring nodes. Several such protocols have been proposed in the past, but all of them are used for single-hop transmission to enhance the throughput. In this paper we propose a model for improving the throughput of multi-hop Static ad-hoc Networks (SANET) line topology by using a concurrent transmission protocol. The simulation results shows the significant improvements of nearly 100% in the case of concurrent transmission protocol in multi-hop environment compared to that of IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol. Again, the throughput of MANET and SANET are compared using the concurrent transmission protocol. We found that the simulation results for SANET are higher and stable as compared to that of MANET.
