Finite Element Analysis of the Dynamic Interaction Between Soil and Tillage Tool

Tillage is one of the main energy consuming operations in an agricultural production system. The soil dynamic response of a tillage tool was analyzed by using the Newmark integral scheme in an incremental and iterative form. The geometric and material nonlinearity of soil deformation were considered in the analysis. The draft requirements of a simple blade in clay soil was predicted using a finite element method and was compared with the experimental data.
