Impact of High-Capacity Internet Access on Technical Level of e-Learning

The paper deals with the quality evaluation of electronic communication services that provide technical background for e-learning systems in the environment of the NGA (Next Generation Access) communication networks, especially in high-capacity Internet access networks. It explains the basic principles and technical capabilities of the access networks. Then it examines e-learning as an application area and its individual forms (including services). In detail it focuses on the relationship between selected e-learning forms and the demands for data transmission including its implementation using particular electronic communication services with specific requirements for qualitative parameters. The experimental measurement results of Internet access throughput are presented and discussed.
